The Working Class Families' Anti-Hunger Act, passed in 2023, increases the eligibility threshold in New Jersey to include students from families in a slightly higher income bracket. Those from a household with an annual income below 200% of the federal poverty level will now be eligible, as opposed to the current 185% or lower threshold. Households not deemed federally eligible may qualify for free or reduced-price meals through the New Jersey Expanded Income Eligibility guidelines.

If your student is graduating and has a school meal (cafeteria) credit balance, the Business Office will transfer that credit to another student in your household upon request. We will refund your credit balance if you do not have another student enrolled. Please allow 3-4 weeks for a check to be processed. Please complete the MHRD Transfer/Refund Form to request a transfer OR a refund.
