OverviewThe SAP consists of a Student Assistance Counselor and a Core Team which provides confidential counseling, intervention, and referral services to students and families in need and promotes healthy student behaviors and choices.The school can assist students who are dealing with the following:
- Use of alcohol or other drugs
- Mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder
- Peer or other relationship struggles
- Eating disorders
- Grief
- Crisis
- Factors that impact academic performance and well-being
Ways we can help:- Confidential individual and group counseling
- Confidential referrals to outside providers
- Substance abuse prevention and education
- Crisis intervention
- In-service training of staff
- Drug and alcohol policy development
- Coordination with treatment providers
- Support services to families
- Mentor program for at-risk freshmen
- Parent programs
