• Summer 2020--- UPDATE 5/7/20
     
     
    With the Governor's recent announcement closing schools through the end of the year and with the uncertainty surrounding social distancing guidelines for the summer, the district has made the difficult decision to cancel or modify our summer offerings as follows:
     
    -Summer Acceleration Algebra I and Geometry H have been canceled.  Students who have already registered will be receiving a full refund along with suggestions for their future math sequence. 
     
    -Summer Acceleration SAT Prep has been canceled due to low enrollment. Students who have already registered will be receiving a full refund.
     
    -Summer Acceleration Personal Finance will be moving to a 100% online format.  Applications are still being accepted through June 1st or until the sessions are filled, with no late fee. All sessions are filled. 
     
    -The Robotics Preview Course has been canceled.  Students who have already registered will be receiving a full refund.
     
    -The College Essay Writing Camp will be moving to a 100% online format.  Applications are still being accepted through June 12th or until the sessions are filled, with no late fee.  Session 1 is full; Session 2 still has available seats. 
     
     
    Overview
     
    The Morris Hills Regional District will be offering the following Summer Acceleration Courses during the Summer of 2020 for motivated students who are looking to get ahead in high school:
    • Algebra I (5 credit course)- Please note:   state regulations require all students to take the NJSLA-Algebra I at the end of this course. 
    • Geometry Honors (5 credit course)- Please note:  state regulations require all students to take the NJSLA-Geometry at the end of this course. 
    • Personal Finance (2.5 credit course).  
    • SAT Prep Math & Language Arts (2.5 credit course).  
     
    Each course above will earn full, transcripted high school credit and is aligned with the NJ Student Learning Standards. Any motivated student who meets the prerequisites and will be in grades 9-12 in the 2020-2021 school year is eligible to participate. Middle school students (entering 8th grade in 2020-2021) will be considered for Algebra I on an individual basis and must have a middle school math teacher and middle school principal approval.
     
     
     
    Other Summer Opportunities: 
     
     
    -Robotics Preview One-Week Course for Students in Grades 6-7 (not for high school credit).  
     
    -Summer Writing Camp for Rising Seniors:  

    College-bound students will leave this three-day workshop with a complete draft of their college application essay.
