TEEN LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
A leadership component of the Program for the Gifted and Talented, Teen Leadership Council (TLC) is a student leadership group within Morris Knolls that provides peer support to students needing and requesting information, assistance, or simply a compassionate listener. TLC also presents special programs for 8th graders and they work with the D.A.R.E. programs for 5th graders. Other components of TLC include the Tobacco Intervention Program (TIP) and a Peer Mediation Program. TLC promotes a "no use" message regarding drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, and they sign a contract in which they agree to remain drug, alcohol and tobacco free while serving as Council members. TLC members are required to be interviewed and participate in training sessions before they can be designated as part of the Council. Nominations may be given to any current TLC member or Ms. Bauer or Ms. Colvin in the Guidance office.
