Transportation
Transportation for out-of-district students depends on your resident district and your distance from our high schools.
Out of District Option 1
If you live within 20 miles of the high school you will attend at Morris Hills Regional, your resident district must provide you with either transportation or aid-in-lieu of transportation. Your resident district will decide which it will offer you. Morris Hills Regional will work with all admitted students and families to coordinate transportation with resident districts by notifying them of accepted choice students.
Out of District Option 2
If you live more than 20 miles from the high school you are accepted to at Morris Hills Regional, transportation becomes the sole responsibility of the family. No aid-in-lieu is provided.
Out of District Option 3
The Morris Hills Regional District will provide Choice students with transportation along our existing bus stops if space is available, at a cost of half the aid-in-lieu payment. If you are interested in this option, please fill out an application.
How do I learn more about transportation options?
- You should begin by contacting the Transportation Coordinator in your resident district after you have been accepted.
- Morris Hills Regional will fill out the state paperwork required on your behalf and send it to your resident district by March 15th.
- Contact the MHRD Transportation Department if you need assistance at transdept@mhrd.org.
