The cumulative nature of mathematics makes completion of homework an integral component of success in any mathematics class. Homework is assigned almost every block. For the most part, assignments consist of solving problems which also reinforces concepts learned in class. Homework problems also give students opportunities to extend and apply basic mathematical rules. On occasion, longer term assignments such as projects or reports are assigned. In computer courses, students may expect frequent lab projects in addition to assigned homework.
