Latest District Update

  • On Monday, May 4, 2020, Governor Murphy issued an Executive Order closing all schools for the remainder of the 2019 - 2020 school year. As a result of that order, Morris Knolls High School and Morris Hills High School will remain closed and will continue with virtual home instruction through the end of the school year. The last day of scheduled classes will be June 18, 2020 (Please note that June 19th, 22nd, and 23rd will be “give back days” as a result of unused snow days and will now be removed from the school calendar). All school activities and athletic practices and contests are canceled for the remainder of the school year.

Our Virtual Commencement Ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM on June 23, 2020. We have contracted with a professional company who has worked with Harvard University, Princeton University, and Cornell University on their virtual commencement ceremonies. We are currently planning this ceremony, and we will provide more detailed information in the near future. Logistics of this ceremony, including plans for diploma distribution, will depend largely on the parameters set forth by the State of New Jersey, Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders, and local law enforcement officials.

If social distancing laws regarding large gatherings are lifted, we will run an in-person graduation ceremony on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM. This in-person ceremony will be in addition to the virtual commencement ceremony planned for June 23, 2020. We are committed to honoring our graduates for their achievements while maintaining their safety and well-being.
